Rochelle Howison

Rochelle Howison, Senior Physiotherapist

Consulting at Lakeview Physiotherapy 4 days per week

Owner and manager of Lakeview Physio since September 2003. Rochelle graduated from LaTrobe University Melbourne in 1994 and has been working at the clinic for over 30 years.

Rochelle is well known for her dedicated work within the local community, and has been closely involved with many sports clubs over the years.

She is an experienced practitioner with an exceptional breadth of treatment techniques developed over many years of clinical practice and still uses a very hands-on approach to treatment.

EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS

Headaches and Neck Pain - These are a long-time interest of Rochelle’s, who fully understands the referral pain patterns to head/face and jaw that the neck can cause.

Frozen Shoulder - Rochelle loves treating these and she understands the importance of early diagnosis. Over the years she has developed particular treatment skills for the varying stages of this increasingly more common condition.

Pain Management and Rehabilitation - She also treats all muscle, soft tissue, joint and spinal conditions including lower back pain, rotator cuff injuries, patellofemoral joint pain, plantar fasciitis, tendinopathies and patients rehabilitating after surgeries.

Vertigo - In addition to her broad musculoskeletal expertise, Rochelle also performs the Epley manoeuvre for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), helping patients find relief and regain confidence in their balance.

Outside of work Rochelle loves to cook for her family and friends, enjoys keeping fit and healthy and is involved in horse racing as a part owner and spectator.

 
     
Jayne O'Malley

Jayne, Physiotherapist

Consulting at Lakeview 3 days per week.

Jayne graduated as a Physiotherapist from LaTrobe University in 2009 and joined the team at Lakeview Physio in 2018.

Jayne has been working in private practise for 17 years treating injuries and in the earlier years taking clinical Pilates. She has worked with many sporting clubs over the years mainly tennis, soccer and AFL.

In more recent years she has also worked doing home visits for the elderly and patients with more complex health issues.

In all cases Jayne focuses on identifying the underlying cause of injury and tailoring treatment to support long-term recovery.

EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS

Sporting Injuries - particularly acute shoulders, acute and chronic lower back pain, hip groin issues, shins splints.

Dry Needling - To help compliment manual therapy and strength programs with conditions such as shin splints, tennis elbow golfer’s elbow, headaches, chronic lower back pain, and gluteal tendinopathy.

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction - Addressing jaw pain as well as related neck and shoulder issues.

Aged Care - Pre and post operation rehabilitation, working with neurological conditions post stroke, Parkinson's and MS helping work with patient and associated carers or family members to achieve functional goals in their personal lives.

Outside of work, Jayne enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors with her family of three boys and Roger, the family Labrador.
 
     
Travis Hampson

Travis Hampson, Senior Physiotherapist

Consulting at Lakeview Physiotherapy 3 days per week.

Travis graduated from Latrobe University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree.

Travis has 33 years’ experience and brings a wealth of knowledge from several different clinical settings. He also owned and worked in his own private practise for many years.

Travis joined the Lakeview Physio team in 2021 and lives locally with his family.

EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS

Sporting Injuries - Treatment of all musculoskeletal and sports injuries from working in his own and other private practice for 20 years and working closely with football and soccer clubs at state and national levels.

Pain Management - Highly experienced in assessing, treating and manage patients with chronic pain problems, including spinal problems that result in neuropathic pain and radiculopathy.

Post Hospital - Post hospital and post-operative rehabilitation for standard and complex orthopaedic surgeries.

Community Aged Care - Skilled in falls risk assessment and developing balance and mobility programmes.

Travis enjoys working with people and helping them understand and manage their conditions. He has a particular interest in knee, shoulder, and back problems.

Outside of work Travis likes to go to the Gym, cook for family and friends, play the drums and spend time with his wife and teenage kids.

     
Steve Rees

Steve Rees, Senior Physiotherapist

Consulting at Lakeview Physiotherapy 3 days per week.

Steve qualified in 2007, completing his masters of Physiotherapy course at the university of Queensland. Steve has 20 years’ experience as a Physiotherapist working both within Australia and the UK across all areas of physiotherapy.

Steve is also a qualified Exercise Scientist. Steve joined the lakeview physio team in 2023 and lives locally with his wife, son and daughter.

EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS

Private Practice - Extensive experience working in private clinic setting, involving comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of all neck, back, nerve, joint and muscle injuries.

Sport Injuries - Plays several sports and has developed a special interest in sports injury management.

Exercise Science - His extra study in exercise science and Pilates which gives him refined skills in appropriate exercise prescription for a range of different client populations and conditions.

Post Op Management - for standard and complex Orthopaedic Management.

Aged Care - Experienced in falls risk assessment and balance retraining programs, as well as strength and conditioning programs for the older age group. Steve enjoys working with people and is exceptionally good at hands on assessment and treatment, education, and prescription of personalised corrective exercise programs.

Outside of work Steve enjoys - Playing with his young son & daughter, cooking meals for his wife and learning the Guitar.

 
     
Abu Abduvahobov

Abu Abduvahobov, Physiotherapist

Abu graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from Monash University.

He is passionate about helping people move better, recover faster, and live more active, confident lives. While early in his career, he brings hands-on experience across a wide range of settings, including community care, aged care, private practice, sports injury management, and post-operative rehabilitation, giving him a well-rounded approach to patient care.

EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS

Sports Injuries - Abu uses his background as a strength coach to help athletes get back to their sport. He guides you through every step, from calming down early pain to getting you back on the field or court to perform at your best again.

Surgery Recovery - With extensive experience in hospital wards, Abu knows exactly how to help after a joint replacement, ligament repair, or broken bone. He focuses on reducing swelling and getting your strength back so you can get back to your normal routine quickly.

Lower Back Pain - Abu is also highly knowledgeable in treating back pain. He helps you understand why it hurts and gives you a clear plan to get moving comfortably and build a stronger, more resilient back.

Shoulder Issues - Drawing on his recent experiences, Abu has become quite adept at fixing shoulders. He uses specific exercises and techniques to help you move, lift and reach without pain.

Healthy Ageing - Thanks to his experience in aged care, Abu can help older adults continue living independently. He designs simple programs to improve your balance and strength, making daily tasks easier and reducing the risk of falls.

Outside of work Abu is a keen golfer.

 
     
Sonali Vaidya

Sonali Qualified in 2016, completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in India then a Postgraduate Certificate in Sports and Exercise Science in New Zealand in 2019.

With over 8 years of experience working across private practice, inpatient rehabilitation, and public health settings.

Sonali joined the Lakeview Physio team in 2025 and currently lives in Point Cook with her husband and their fur baby.

EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS

Sports Injuries - Treatment of all musculoskeletal and sports injuries.

Clinical Pilates - Designs individualised, exercise-based rehabilitation programs which are tailored to a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Women’s Health & Pre/Post-Natal Care - Experience in managing pre-natal pelvic girdle pain and providing post-natal assessments with safe return-to-exercise programs. She also supports patients with concerns such as incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Cervical & Lumbar Spine Management - Has developed a strong interest in assessing and managing neck and lower back pain, including acute and chronic injuries.

Orthopaedic & Post-Operative Rehabilitation - Has extensive experience managing patients following orthopaedic surgeries, including hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, and spinal procedures. She has worked closely with both musculoskeletal and neurological clients, including within inpatient rehabilitation settings and the aged population.

Dry Needling - She holds additional qualifications in neuromuscular dry needling, which she incorporates into treatment plans to support the management of various neuromuscular conditions.

Outside of work, Sonali enjoys hiking with family and friends (and her dog!) and has a passion for contemporary dance.
